This handbook is for the Protocol team and the PR & Design support team working the Asia Badminton Championships. Carry it with you on duty. Anything marked [TBC] is still to be confirmed — check with the Protocol lead before the event.

| Host | Cambodia Badminton Federation (CBF) |
| Sanction | Badminton Asia |
| Partners | Four official sponsors, including VICTOR |
| Website | badminton.cbf-kh.com |
| Date | Milestone |
|---|---|
| 7 Aug | Press conference — live video and photo coverage |
| 12 Aug | Participating countries announced |
| 14 Aug | Technical officials meeting · athlete arrivals · venue and sponsor booth set-up |
| 15 Aug | Competition begins |
| 21 Aug | Finals, medal ceremony, closing |
Protocol covers everything around the sport: how guests are received, where people sit, the order things happen in, and how the federation is represented. Design and Media sit under the same lead so that what is published matches what happens on the floor.
| Role | Responsibility |
|---|---|
| Protocol lead | Guest reception, precedence, ceremony sequence, liaison with Badminton Asia and the federation |
| Team lead | Daily assignment of Design and Media staff, quality check before anything is published |
| Design | Posters, banners, countdown graphics, results tables, programme booklet, certificates |
| Media | Photography, video, live coverage, recaps, social posts, sponsor content |
| Floor runner | Moves between court, media desk and VIP area; carries flash drives and printed sheets |
Nothing bearing the federation logo is published without the team lead's approval. Anything involving a guest of honour, a national flag, or a sponsor's mark also needs the Protocol lead's approval before it goes out.
All federation mail runs on @cbf-kh.com. Use it for anything official — personal addresses are for recovery only.
Day-to-day coordination runs through the CBF PR and Design Team group on Telegram. Post your status there at the start and end of each shift.
Precedence decides who is greeted first, who is seated where, who speaks in what order, and whose name appears first in captions. When in doubt, ask — do not guess.
Greet from highest precedence downward, right to left as you face the line. Flags follow the same order, with the Cambodian flag in the position of honour. In group photographs the guest of honour stands centre, host to their right. Never seat a sponsor above a government or federation guest, whatever the sponsorship value.
Friday 14 August 2026. Times are indicative until the final schedule is confirmed — treat the sequence as fixed and the clock as provisional.

Two photographers minimum: one fixed at the podium line, one roaming. The roaming photographer never crosses in front of a seated guest of honour. Video holds a locked wide shot for the entire anthem and declaration.
Medal ceremonies follow each final on Friday 21 August, and any earlier category finals as scheduled. The sequence below does not change.
| Who | During the ceremony |
|---|---|
| Protocol | Escorts the presenting official; checks medal tray order before each category |
| Media — stills | Podium wide, each athlete on receipt, flag and anthem, final group shot |
| Media — video | Locked wide for the anthem; cutaways only between categories |
| Design | Champion graphic prepared in advance; names filled in and published within the hour |
Never step onto the podium platform. Never obscure a flag while it is being raised. Never publish a result graphic before the ceremony has concluded — a scoreline can still change on appeal.
This pattern repeats every competition day, 15 – 21 August. Exact times follow the published order of play.
| Phase | What happens |
|---|---|
| Before play | Team check-in on Telegram · equipment and battery check · confirm the day's order of play · position brief from the team lead |
| First session | Court-side photography · short clips for same-day posting · sponsor booth and crowd atmosphere |
| Midday | First edit pass · results table updated · midday post published |
| Second session | Continued coverage · featured match identified for the daily highlight |
| End of play | Daily results table published · photo set posted · sponsor video of the day posted · files backed up |
| Close-out | Team lead reviews the day · tomorrow's assignments posted to the group |
Two copies of every card before it is reformatted: one on the working drive, one on the backup drive. Nothing is deleted until the team lead confirms both copies exist.
Thirty-five deliverables across three phases, from the approved V1 work plan. The live tracker holds the current status.

14 August carries six separate deliverables alongside the opening ceremony. Plan the split of Design and Media staff for that day no later than 10 August.

| Competition days | Accredited team shirt, neat trousers, closed shoes suitable for court-side |
| Always | Accreditation visible at chest height, never reversed or covered |
